A Message from the Dean

Can you believe it’s already the first week of September?! 🍎📚

We’ve had a busy and exciting start to the school year! Over the past few weeks, we’ve been learning routines, practicing expectations, building relationships, and getting to know our amazing students. We are ready to make this academic year one of our best yet!

We also had a fun Kick-Off Assembly where we celebrated the students who participated in our Summer Lexia & Reading Challenge. Our students worked hard all summer, and those who reached the challenge goal earned the chance to “Dunk the Dean!” It was definitely a memorable way to celebrate their hard work and dedication!

Beginning-of-Year Testing

Beginning next week, students will start completing their Beginning-of-Year (BOY) assessments. These assessments give our teachers valuable information about each student’s current skills and help us determine how to best support their learning and growth throughout the year.

During this testing window, please make every effort to have your child at school, on time, every day. Consistent attendance is important not only during testing, but throughout the entire school year. Each school day builds on the one before it, and regular attendance helps students stay connected to classroom instruction, routines, friendships, and learning. Every day really does matter! ❤️

Thank you, Declaration families, for helping us start the year strong. We appreciate your continued support and partnership.

🍩 We look forward to seeing you Wednesday at Donuts & Grown-Ups!

Mrs. Whitford, M.Ed.

Dean of Students

We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home. Learn more and get started today by viewing our ParentSquare web page. [UPDATE LINK]
